Copper Valley Telephone Cooperative, Inc. is pleased to announce that $23,500 in scholarships will be made available to graduating seniors. The student must reside within CVT’s service area to apply for the CVT scholarship. Their parents or guardians must be current members of Copper Valley Telecom or be wireless customers in Cordova or another area where landline service is not offered.
The scholarship committees will select the finalists based on the merits of this application and possibly an interview.
Applicants have until the close of business on March 30th, 2022, to submit their applications.

Copper Valley Telecom is proud to endorse scholarships from Alaska Telecom Association (ATA), available to students who are members of Copper Valley Telecom or ATA, or whose parents or guardians are. Please contact us at 800.235.5414 to request sponsorship needed for ATA’s scholarships application. The 2022 ATA scholarship application period is now open with a deadline of mid-April. Copper Valley Telecom also promotes scholarships from The Foundation for Rural Services (FRS). Please visit frs.org/programs/youth-programs/scholarships/ for pertinent information, before beginning the FRS scholarship application. The deadline for the FRS scholarship application is February 25, 2022.
Copper Valley Telecom Scholarship Application Directions
The following information must be included in your application packet
1. High school transcript (minimum 2.0 grade point average)
2. Three letters of recommendation, one from each of the following:
- Classroom teacher
- Community or industry member, or employer
- Personal reference
3. Personal data narrative, not to exceed two double-spaced pages, including:
- Personal history
- Description of involvement in clubs, school, and community activities
- Outline of education and career goals
4. Certification form (download here) must be signed by applicant and high school counselor or principal.
Applications and supporting documents may be submitted online, mailed, or hand delivered to CVT offices. All applications must be received in CVT’s business office no later than 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30th, 2022.
