Why is CVT making the switch to RINA?

CVT is switching to RINA to enhance our network capabilities and improve the overall experience for our customers. This transition provides us with a pathway to deploying 5G, ensuring we can continue to offer cutting-edge technology and faster, more reliable service in the future. Additionally, RINA expands our roaming flexibility by giving us access to a broader network of partners, which means better coverage and connectivity when traveling. This allows us to continue providing the best possible service while preparing for the future of wireless technology.

Will my coverage change?

Your coverage will continue to be strong, and in many areas, it will improve over time. Moving forward, all new towers will be RINA-only, and we already have six towers operating exclusively on RINA. As we transition to this new technology, legacy systems will eventually be phased out, but this shift allows us to expand and enhance coverage for our customers.

Do I need to do anything to activate RINA?

Yes, to activate RINA, you’ll need to visit your local CVT store to upgrade your SIM card or eSIM to a new RINA SIM. Our customer service team will handle the transition to ensure a smooth switch. While there is typically a small activation fee, we’re waiving it for this upgrade!

Do I need a new phone?

Whether you need a new phone depends on your current device. The RINA network is compatible with iPhone 11 and newer, as well as Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer. If you have an older device, you may need an upgrade to take full advantage of the improved network. We also recommend ensuring your device is updated to the most current software version for the best performance. If you’re unsure whether your phone is compatible, we’re happy to help you check your device and explore upgrade options!

Will my bill amount change?

Your bill amount will remain the same if you’re already on one of our current unlimited plans, as those are the only plans eligible for RINA upgrades. However, if you’re switching from a legacy plan to a RINA plan, there may be a difference in pricing compared to your current plan. We’re happy to go over your options and help you find the best plan to fit your needs!

Will there be any changes to my Voicemail?

Yes, there will be some changes to your voicemail as we transition to a new platform. If you have existing voicemails you’d like to keep, they can be saved and sent to your email. We’ll have step-by-step instructions available soon to guide you through the process.
