Copper Valley Telecom has some exciting news to share! Two new cell sites have were installed in Copper Center and Gulkana, Alaska. Both towers became active on September 29th, 2020, and are now providing high quality, LTE service to formerly underserved areas, including Native communities in these areas.
LTE service offers higher bandwidth, faster response times from our CVT network, and it increases overall cellular and data coverage. This means our customers will experience more continuous data coverage along the highways, communities, and faster data speeds overall, when their devices are connected to LTE. These improvements are especially helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic, when many people are using the Internet for work, school and to keep in touch with loved ones.
These two new towers will further expand Copper Valley Telecom’s extensive VoLTE coverage. VoLTE is a higher quality, wireless communications system for mobile devices, and Copper Valley Telecom will begin migrating to the VoLTE network in mid-October. CVT is excited to provide these improved, high-quality services to our customers and expand mobile and Internet connections to new areas throughout our service area.
