Internet Outage 5/10/23

5/12/23 — 10:00 AM: We are happy to inform you that the internet outage affecting our services has been resolved. If you are still experiencing issues connecting to the internet, we suggest power cycling your gateway. If the issue persists, please reach out to our customer service team at 800.235.5414 to submit a trouble ticket. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding throughout the outage.

5/11/23 – 12:20 PM: The upstream provider is in the process of migrating services to new equipment.  The process is lengthy and will take time.  However, gradual improvement is expected as the day progresses.

5/11/23 – 10:20 AM: Overnight technicians were able to improve connectivity. However, bandwidth is limited, and websites may load slowly. Streaming services are not recommended, as usage will congest bandwidth availability.

5/10/23 – 10:55 PM: Work is still underway and is not complete. You will experience intermittent connectivity and a wide array of speeds.

5/10/23 – 9:55 PM: Several of you noticed we have experienced a moment or two of throughput. However, it was limited. We continue to push the partner (upstream provider) for a resolution.

5/10/23 – 7:00 PM: Nothing new to report at this time. We will continue to monitor and pass on updates as we receive them this evening.

5/10/23 – 4:22 PM: Hardware has arrived onsite. Re-provision work is underway.

5/10/23 – 3:55 PM: The partner company’s technicians worked through a process to restore internet services. Unfortunately, the attempt was unsuccessful. We understand that additional hardware is en route to enable additional work to be completed.

5/10/23 – 12:40 PM: Waiting for an update from Portland on the repair status. We will share it as soon as it is received.

5/10/23 – 10:10 AM: We are communicating with the Alaska Partner working on the issue in Portland, Oregon. We are pushing for a resolution to get internet services restored.

5/10/23 – 6:15 AM: Technicians in the Portland area are still working to restore internet service. The last update received shortly after 6 AM did not provide insight into a service restoration timeline. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, as the outage will no doubt cause considerable disruption during everyone’s morning routine. Updates will be shared as we receive them.

5/10/23 – 2:15 AM: No Estimated Time of Repair. Reported Fiber cut in the Portland area.

5/09/23 – 11:30 PM: At this time, we do not have any additional updates or a timeline for repair. The issue is outside the state of Alaska and impacts multiple internet service providers within the state.

5/09/23: The issue has been identified, and it is with a partner in Portland. The duration is unknown at this time. We will update you as information becomes available.

5/09/23: Currently, CVT customers are experiencing an internet outage. Technicians are working to identify the issue. We appreciate your patience as we get everyone back up and running.
